The McKeel Academy Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Ridge Community Bolts at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
McKeel Academy pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-56 bruising from Excel Christian Academy. McKeel Academy has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Meanwhile, Ridge Community pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Davenport by a score of 60-58. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ridge Community in their matchups with Davenport: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Ridge Community had strong showings from Tarique Kennedy, who scored 20 points, and Eddy Hyppolite jr., who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kennedy has scored all season. Siled Morris was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
McKeel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Ridge Community, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9.
McKeel Academy ended up a good deal behind Ridge Community in their previous meeting back in November of 2016, losing 52-36. Can McKeel Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
