Freeman got a massive performance out of Kayleigh Perks, who fired off three stolen bases, four runs, and four doubles while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Perks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Perks, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Freeman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .463. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Maggie Walker got the win against Henrico on Thursday by a conclusive 15-5. Considering Maggie Walker has won three matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Jalise Melson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kylea New, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Maggie Walker pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Freeman, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
