Tupelo's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Starkville on Friday. The Golden Wave blew past the Yellowjackets 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Golden Wave, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brody Wilson made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has become a key player for Tupelo: the team is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Wilson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tyler Johnson, who fired off three home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Landon Swinney was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Tupelo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Tupelo's record is now 12-9. As for Starkville, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-9.

Looking ahead, Tupelo will head out to face off against Itawamba Agricultural at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Starkville, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against West Point at 2:00 p.m.
