Desert Christian has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the St. Monica Academy Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Desert Christian suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Thursday. They were dealt a 70-41 defeat at the hands of Trinity Classical Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Desert Christian in their matchups with Trinity Classical Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their defeat, Desert Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jacob Schroeder, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was John Helton, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. Monica Academy pushed their score all the way to 70 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 79-70 to More. That's two games in a row now that St. Monica Academy has lost by exactly nine points.
Desert Christian bumped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. Monica Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.
Desert Christian was dealt a bruising 84-54 defeat at the hands of St. Monica Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Desert Christian was down 44-23.
