On Thursday, The Liberty Patriots faced the Silverado Skyhawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Liberty breezed by Silverado at home to the tune of 48-6. Winning may never get old, but Liberty sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Tyrese Smith, who threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Liberty also got help from Kellen Iwamuro who showed off his sure hands for 107 receiving yards.
Liberty's win was their ninth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Silverado, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Liberty will take on Shadow Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Shadow Ridge is ranked third, while Liberty is ranked second). Silverado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
