Baseball Recap: Barrington Has No Trouble Against Conant

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Barrington and Conant have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Fillies/Broncos were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Fillies/Broncos have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jack Postma tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jackson Roberts was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zack Ostergaaurd, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Barrington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Barrington's record is now 19-8-1. As for Conant, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-17-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barrington will challenge Wheeling at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Conant, they will face off against Buffalo Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
