Baseball Recap: Faith Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Vigor

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Faith Academy). They never let the Vigor Wolves get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won four matches in a row.

Noah Reid looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Grayson Finch was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Braydon Wright was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Faith Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Faith Academy pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Vigor, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Faith Academy beat Vigor by a score of 12-1 later that day.
