The Arvada Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Sheridan 81-50 on the road. With that victory, Arvada brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Christian Lake was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Cameron Henderson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists and five steals.
Will Brent and Armando Monarrez certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Brent scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, while Monarrez scored 11 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Brent is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Garcia, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Sheridan struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Arvada racked up 17 assists.
The win makes it two in a row for Arvada and bumps their season record up to 5-11. As for Sheridan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Arvada will be playing in front of their home fans against The Pinnacle at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully The Pinnacle focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday. As for Sheridan, they will head out on the road to challenge Platte Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Platte Canyon is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
