Linden-Kildare has gone 8-2 against Bowie recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Linden-Kildare Tigers will square off against the Bowie Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Linden-Kildare is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Linden-Kildare challenged Maud on Friday. Linden-Kildare came out on top against Maud by a score of 5-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Callie Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Lynlee Lejeune was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Allie Watson, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Lejeune wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Linden-Kildare kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maud only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bowie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pewitt 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since April 12, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Abigail Dial, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Adaline Holt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Bowie's record is now 2-5. As for Linden-Kildare, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Linden-Kildare's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. Linden-Kildare has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Bowie, though, as they've been averaging only 0.6 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Linden-Kildare continue to outrun the ball?
Linden-Kildare came out on top in a nail-biter against Bowie when the teams last played back in February, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Linden-Kildare since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
