Baseball Game Preview: Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder vs. St. John's Prep Johnnies

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle has gone 9-1 against St. John's Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Thunder will square off against the Johnnies at 6:45 p.m. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 25) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Upsala/Swanville 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, St. John's Prep came up short against Upsala/Swanville on Tuesday, falling 14-1. The Johnnies haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for St. John's Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Long Prairie-Grey Eagle's way against St. John's Prep when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Long Prairie-Grey Eagle made off with a 10-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
