La Porte is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Angleton is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Bulldogs will host the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If Angleton heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when La Porte took over last week. The Bulldogs came out on top against Crosby by a score of 28-21 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Cougars are ranked 271st).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Porte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sean Simon, who rushed for 173 yards and a pair of TDs. Simon is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Smith, who picked up 115 receiving yards and one score.
Meanwhile, Angleton never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 49-0 win over Fort Bend Kempner. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Angleton's win came from a few key players La Porte will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Wyatt Neyland, who rushed for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 60 yards. Jayden Moore was another key rusher, rushing for 93 yards and two TDs on only six carries.
Angleton's run defense was locked in: Fort Bend Kempner could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Landon Miles for the heroic effort on defense: he. Angleton didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.1.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Angleton, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ace Simple, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
La Porte's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Angleton, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.
La Porte couldn't quite finish off Angleton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 24-21. Thankfully for the Bulldogs, Jamarcus Shockley (who rushed for 126 yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
