Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Amat Lancers vs. Great Oak Wolfpack

The Bishop Amat Lancers will face off against the Great Oak Wolfpack at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Amat knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Great Oak likes a good challenge.

Bishop Amat's tournament run continued when they took on Atascadero on Saturday. Everything went Bishop Amat's way against Atascadero as Bishop Amat made off with a 65-44 win. Given the Lancers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Greyhounds are ranked 323rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Amat's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Shaw, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Shaw a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Rayshaun White, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.

Bishop Amat smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Great Oak's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. The match between them and Canyon View didn't end well, with Great Oak falling 83-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (65), the Wolfpack still had to take the loss.

Great Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Bishop Amat, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
