The Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie will square off against the Brito Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hialeah Educational Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Goleman.
Deyvis Vazquez looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isaac Centeno, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Ortiz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Hialeah Educational Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Brito had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Miami Beach by a score of 7-4 on Tuesday.
Brito also got a great performance from SebaSthyan Montilla as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. The Panthers are 2-1 when Montilla allows one or fewer hits, but 4-7 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Raivon Pinder was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Brito: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-7 otherwise.
Brito's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.
Hialeah Educational Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Brito when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 7-3. Do the Biggie have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
