Valley View's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Wallenpaupack Area as they made off with a 9-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Abbi Call was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Swingle, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Coral Kelly, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Valley View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Delaware Valley came up short against Abington Heights on Tuesday, falling 14-3. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Delaware Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Sullivan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That RBI was Sullivan's first of the season.
Valley View's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Delaware Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
Everything went Valley View's way against Delaware Valley in their previous matchup back in April, as Valley View made off with a 12-0 win. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
