The University School of Jackson Bruins will head out to face off against the Munford Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, University School of Jackson put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They blew past Fayette Academy 21-2. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.
Braydin Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because University School of Jackson is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Jones was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, University School of Jackson got a massive performance out of Max Kilburn, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Kilburn a new career-high. Noah Britt also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
University School of Jackson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fayette Academy only posted an OBP of .417.
Meanwhile, Munford entered their tilt with Millington Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Trojans a 15-0 shutout. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.
Houston Yount made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Yount was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Noah Lowry was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Jase Greenland was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
University School of Jackson's record is now 7-8. As for Munford, their record now sits at 12-6.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. University School of Jackson has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .462. However, it's not like Munford struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
