Basketball Recap: Concordia Lutheran Takes a Loss

Concordia Lutheran lost against Village back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders took a blow against the Village Vikings, falling 71-34. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1032nd, while the Vikings are ranked 395th).

Concordia Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ghaven Mittal, who posted six points and six boards. That's the most rebounds Mittal has posted since back in December of 2024.

Concordia Lutheran has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Village, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-14.

Concordia Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-75 loss against St. Pius X on the 27th. As for Village, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-54 victory against St. Thomas Catholic on the 25th.
