The Eastern Warriors were the 57-48 winner over the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Eastern took a serious blow against Lynchburg-Clay on Monday, falling 53-24. Eastern was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Lynchburg-Clay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addison West out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was West's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jade Massey, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Eastern bumped their record down to 1-2 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Lynchburg-Clay, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastern will take on West Union at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Fayetteville-Perry at 7:30 p.m. on December 14th. Hopefully Fayetteville-Perry focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Thursday.
