Softball Recap: Marlington Has No Trouble Against Carrollton

Marlington was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Carrollton on Wednesday. The Dukes put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 13-1 win. The Dukes haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Lydia Duncan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Chelsea Miller was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Zoey Maxwell was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact: Marlington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Marlington's record now sits at 3-1. As for Carrollton, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
