V Section I recap Oct. 9, 2012
Pinon extended the longest winning streak in V Section I this week by beating Greyhills Academy, 56-8. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Eagles.
Valley and Shonto Prep played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Valley eventually emerging with a 1-0 victory.
Hopi's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bruins feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Allen Joshevama has thrown for 1050 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Blake Sekaquaptewa has 29 catches for 533 yards. Sekaquaptewa leads the league in rushing with 860 yards.
A big matchup in V Section I this week will be when Williams takes on Hopi. The Vikings are currently in first, while the Bruins are in fifth.
There should be lots of points scored when Williams and Hopi face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Jeff Brownlee's team comes in having scored 281 this season, while Steve Saban's team has scored 184. The Vikings scored 8 points last week as they lost to River Valley.
