The Hope Academy Trojan Tigers waltzed into their contest Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They really took it to Altamonte Christian for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-47 win at home. Hope Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four games by 26 points or more this season.
Hope Academy found their leader in underclassman Dwayne Foreman III, who scored 23 points along with seven assists and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Foreman III has scored at least 25% of Hope Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Boyer, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Altamonte Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Marcus Goss Jr. and Ashton Billings. Goss Jr. scored 13 points, while Billings scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Billings' third in a row with at least ten points.
Altamonte Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hope Academy pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Hope Academy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Altamonte Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Hope Academy and International Community will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. International Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 637th, while Hope Academy is ranked 120th). As for Altamonte Christian, they will be playing at home against Palm Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palm Bay will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
