The North Central Knights were the 44-41 winner over the Sandhills/Thedford Knights when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The match between the two teams wasn't particularly close, with North Central falling 55-37. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Sandhills/Thedford is ranked 36th).
Despite the loss, North Central still got an impressive performance from Mason Hagan, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Hagan scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Anthony, who scored five points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, North Central were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
North Central's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Sandhills/Thedford, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Central will take on Burke at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sandhills/Thedford, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Arthur County. Arthur County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
