The Hamilton Braves had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 48.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They snuck past Biggs with a 34-28 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hamilton also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Hamilton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayden Strong, who picked up 147 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 49 yards and two touchdowns. Strong's longest reception was for an incredible 82 yards. Omar Sanchez also helped out as he racked up 106 receiving yards.
Biggs' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Smith, who rushed for 128 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Smith, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Even if they lost, Biggs' defensive line still kept up the pressure with eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Thomas Job and Skyler Long who racked up seven sacks between them.
Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Biggs, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton will take on Mt. Shasta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Biggs, they will be playing at home against Willows at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Willows is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
