The Castor Tigers lost against the Sterlington Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Castor opened the new year with a less-than-successful 49-38 defeat to Sterlington.
Sterlington was led to victory by Khristian Johnson and Cooper Nelson. Johnson scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Nelson scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The matchup was Nelson's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Memphis Singleton , who scored six points along with three steals.
Castor's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Sterlington, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.
Castor will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Glenbrook at 7:00 p.m. Glenbrook is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Sterlington won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Vidalia at 4:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Vidalia is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
