Seguin is 0-10 against Centennial since March of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Cougars will welcome the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Seguin turned things around against Everman on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 19-9 victory. Considering the Cougars have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Izel Lincon made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025.

In other batting news, Ixchel Lincon was incredible, firing off three triples, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leyla Flowers, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Seguin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Everman only posted an OBP of .406.
Meanwhile, Centennial never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Mansfield Summit 10-0.
Not much got past Kendall Cottongame, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Mansfield Summit off the board.
At the plate, Centennial got a massive performance out of Ava Ellis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Gabby Saavedra was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Seguin's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Seguin has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Centennial struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Seguin might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Centennial in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
