The Anderson Cubs lost against the Gridley Bulldogs back in February of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Anderson had to suffer through a rough 63-35 loss at the hands of Gridley. While losing is never fun, Anderson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while Gridley is ranked 28th).
Anderson's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Patrick Bowen, who scored 12 points. Ryland Stelt was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Gridley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Anderson will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Paradise. Hopefully Paradise focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday. As for Gridley, they will take on Mt. Shasta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
