The Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Atlas HomeSchool R by a score of 38-27. Given Northern Virginia HomeSchool's advantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 206th in Virginia, while Atlas HomeSchool R is ranked 898th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gabe Drown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 435 yards and five touchdowns. Drown hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Sheppard Jones was in the mix as well, providing Northern Virginia HomeSchool with two touchdowns.
Atlas HomeSchool R's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trent Strachan, who threw for 382 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt. Alex Hale was another key contributor, rushing for 138 yards while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Northern Virginia HomeSchool's victory bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Atlas HomeSchool R, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season.
Northern Virginia HomeSchool is on the road again on Saturday and play against Lighthouse Christian at 2:00 p.m. on November 18th. As for Atlas HomeSchool R, they will face off against Columbus Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Columbus Crusaders will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
