Colorado Academy is 8-2 against Peak to Peak since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mustangs will host the Pumas at 10:00 a.m. Colorado Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Peak to Peak's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
If Colorado Academy beats Peak to Peak with four runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Mustangs skirted past Prospect Ridge Academy 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.
Charlie Rakowski made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Rakowski was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kieran Delaney, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Peak to Peak hadn't done well against The Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Pumas put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 8-1 victory. Considering the Pumas have won three matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Colorado Academy, Peak to Peak also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Campbell. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Campbell also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Peak to Peak is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Campbell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dane Hirt was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Peak to Peak: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise. Owen Branscum was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Peak to Peak kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Peak to Peak now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Colorado Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Colorado Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Peak to Peak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Colorado Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Peak to Peak when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pumas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
