Hidalgo is 1-8 against La Feria since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hidalgo Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the La Feria Lions at 7:30 p.m. Hidalgo come in still looking for their first win of the season.
Two Fridays ago, Hidalgo took a serious blow against King, falling 34-7.
Meanwhile, La Feria fell victim to Calallen's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Wildcats on the road and fell 63-0. While losing is never fun, La Feria can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1081st, while Calallen is ranked 359th).
Hidalgo's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-6. La Feria has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost six of their first seven matches, which gives them a 1-6 record this season.
Hidalgo and La Feria were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in October of 2022, but Hidalgo came up empty-handed after a 35-34 defeat. Can Hidalgo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
