Given Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Rattlers are ranked 589th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Toby Pike led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 22 rebounds. Pike has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Huston, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Red River lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Corban Tyler, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Tyler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Jeremiah Crecelius was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Red River, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-13.
Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Red River is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on February 8th.
