Coral Reef will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 436th, while Hialeah Educational Academy is ranked 76th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 87-48, which was the final score in Coral Reef's tilt against Belen Jesuit on Thursday. Coral Reef has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Coral Reef saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nathaniel Wesley, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The matchup was Wesley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Williams, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Hialeah Educational Academy pushed their score all the way to 75 last Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Sheldon 80-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (58), Hialeah Educational Academy still had to take the loss.
Coral Reef has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Hialeah Educational Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
