David Cooper continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 104 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 177 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Lucas Viloria was another key player, rushing for 46 yards and three scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cedar Park was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in six consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East View). They came out on top against Lake Belton by a score of 49-36 on Friday. The Patriots pushed the score to 49-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Broncos cut but never quite recovered from.
Cedar Park better keep an eye on Cormyc Guerrero. He was instrumental in East View's win, rushing for 183 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 291 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Guerrero's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Allen Blaylock was Guerrero's top target, picking up 96 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Cedar Park now has a winning record of 3-2. As for East View, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Cedar Park came out on top in a nail-biter against East View when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 31-29. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Patriots' Ty Blair, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 236 yards and a pair of TDs. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Timberwolves to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
