For Clermont Northeastern, this counts as revenge for the 50-45 defeat Georgetown walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Clermont Northeastern's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jenna Brown, who scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Yeager, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Despite the defeat, Georgetown saw an underclassman step up: Morgan Preston scored 15 points. Preston scored a full 30% of Georgetown's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Emily Bertram was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 6 rebounds.
Clermont Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Georgetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Clermont Northeastern will head out on the road to face off against East Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Georgetown, they will play host again and welcome Blanchester, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
