Tri County Northeast has not had much luck with Ponca recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Tri County Northeast had strong showings from Hunter Heikes, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Jackson Belt, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. Heikes scored a full 52.8% of Tri County Northeast's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tri County Northeast has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Ponca, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Tri County Northeast will head out on the road to face off against Tekamah-Herman on Tuesday. Ponca will be home for the holidays to greet Battle Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
