The Akiachak Huskies pushed their score all the way to 72 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 80-72 to Chevak. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (55), Akiachak still had to take the loss.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexie Snyder, who scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Snyder has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vyshonne Chingliak, who scored 25 points.
Akiachak now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Chevak, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
Akiachak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Chevak won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hooper Bay at 9:00 a.m. on January 6th.
