The Newton County Academy Generals won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 43-16 loss at the hands of Sylva Bay Academy. Newton County Academy has not had much luck with Sylva Bay Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Sylva Bay Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Timothy Moss, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moss has scored all season. Jabari Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Newton County Academy dropped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.4 points per game. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Newton County Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sylva Bay Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
