The Granville Golden Horde will head out on the road to challenge the Argyle Scots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Granville fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Lake George on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Lakers 46-42.
Granville's defeat came about despite a quality game from Melissa Beaver, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Beaver scored 15 or more points. Lauren Bascom was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Argyle's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 61-28 loss at the hands of Warrensburg. While losing is never fun, Argyle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while Warrensburg is ranked 191st).
Granville's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Argyle, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-10.
Granville took their victory against Argyle in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 39-15. The rematch might be a little tougher for Granville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
