The Vidor Pirates had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 55-6 win over Splendora. Given Vidor's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Splendora is ranked 930th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vidor's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Splendora, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Vidor will square off against Lindale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lindale is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Splendora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
