After flying high against Cuyama Valley last Friday, Maricopa came back down to earth. The Maricopa Indians fell to the Farmersville Aztecs 35-30. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Maricopa saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michael Grysko posted seven points and 13 rebounds. Grysko is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Maricopa fell to 3-1. As for Farmersville, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Maricopa won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Coast Union at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maricopa's defense has only allowed 28.5 points per game this season, so Coast Union's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Farmersville, they will face off against Parlier at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
