If the Manchester Red Hawks were riding high off their 56-27 takedown of the Wethersfield Eagles last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Manchester fell 67-55 to Rocky Hill on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manchester in their matchups with Rocky Hill: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Manchester lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tiara Tyson. Despite the final result, she scored 39 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyson has scored all season. Elise Ryan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Manchester struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Rocky Hill, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Manchester will be playing at home against RHAM at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Newington at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Newington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday.
