The Seven Rivers Christian Warriors stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They really took it to St. Petersburg Catholic for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-23 win on the road. The victory was familiar territory for Seven Rivers Christian who now have four in a row.
Seven Rivers Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jurisah Bailey, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Bailey is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Annalise De beer, who almost dropped a double-double on ten rebounds and nine steals.
St. Petersburg Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Brown, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Miller, who scored six points.
Seven Rivers Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seven Rivers Christian and the Eagles will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. First Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 525th, while the Warriors are ranked 186th). As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they will head out on the road to take on the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shorecrest Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
