The Paxton Tigers were the 54-52 winner over the Hitchcock County Falcons when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. Paxton suffered a rough 64-42 loss at the hands of Hitchcock County on Friday. Paxton was down 53-31 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Paxton still got an impressive performance from Josh Eakins, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Ethan Hardin was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
This is the second loss in a row for Paxton and nudges their season record down to 10-7. As for Hitchcock County, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Paxton will head out on the road to square off against South Platte at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully South Platte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 last Thursday. As for Hitchcock County, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rawlins County at 7:00 p.m. Rawlins County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
