After flying high against Washington  on Wednesday, Highland came back down to earth. The Hawks took  an  8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Benedictine Cadets on Thursday. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cadets earlier this season, when they won  9-0.
 Highland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Benjy Cardone, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base.  Jake Gunning was another,  going 3-for-4 with one  RBI.
Highland has  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-9 record  this season. As for Benedictine, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-15-1.
As of now, neither Highland nor the Cadets have any future games scheduled.
