Even though The Albemarle Bulldogs have not done well against the North Stanly Comets recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Albemarle came out on top against North Stanly by a score of 14-7. The win was familiar territory for Albemarle who now have three in a row.
Albemarle was led to victory by Jason Wall and Malik Watkins. Wall picked up 135 receiving yards, while Watkins rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
North Stanly's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chance Blake, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Albemarle now has a winning record of 6-5. As for North Stanly, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albemarle will take on South Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Stanly, they will be playing in front of their home fans against T.W. Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. T.W. Andrews is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
