Meanwhile, Smithfield-Selma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 29th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 26-8 to West Johnston.

Smithfield-Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for C.B. Aycock, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

C.B. Aycock took their win against Smithfield-Selma when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 24-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
