Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Caddo). Everything went their way against the Green Oaks Giants on Wednesday as the North Caddo Titans made off with a 17-1 victory. The Titans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Giants, too.
Nataleigh Ball was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She also tossed three walks, marking her first of the season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, North Caddo let KK Rainey and Gracie Garner run wild. Rainey got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Garner scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That home run was Rainey's first of the season. Shaun Rambin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.
North Caddo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .913. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
North Caddo's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.
Looking ahead, North Caddo is taking a road trip to take on Ebarb at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ebarb will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something North Caddo surely won't give up without a fight. Green Oaks will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Huntington at 5:00 p.m. on March 17th.
