Avon Lake managed to slip by Steele the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Shoremen lost 10-2 to the Comets on Monday. The Shoremen just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Olivia Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Briana Webster, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Olmsted Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Highland on Tuesday.
MOLLY SHEEHAN made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, BROOKE LARGENT was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. SYDNEY BUSSER was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Olmsted Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Olmsted Falls is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Avon Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
