The Alma Cardinals had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.4 points), and they went ahead and made it 13 on Monday. They walked away with a 44-36 victory over Cambridge. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Alma also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Addison Siebels was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Riley Scott, who scored 13 points.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brylyn Springer, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Springer has scored all season. Mallory Springer was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Alma's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Cambridge, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Alma will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Southern Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Southern Valley will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. As for Cambridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bertrand at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bertrand has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
