In what's become a running theme this season, the Heritage Christian Eagles gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 55-3 victory over Poetry Community Christian on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Heritage Christian has posted since November 21, 2023.
Heritage Christian found their leader in underclassman Deanna Montgomery, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Darland, who scored 13 points along with eight steals.
Heritage Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.33 points. As for Poetry Community Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Heritage Christian will look to defend their home court on Friday against Greenville Christian at 6:00 p.m. Greenville Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 13 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Poetry Community Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Longview Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
