Volleyball Recap: Addie Whitaker Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Eastside

Dixie County had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Eastside on Tuesday. The Bears put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

While Dixie County won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-22.

Dixie County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Addie Whitaker out in front who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Whitaker has posted since back in October of 2024.

Whitaker wasn't the only good server: Dixie County was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastside only served seven aces.

Dixie County's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Eastside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixie County will challenge Bell at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eastside, they will square off against Trenton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
