There's no place like home for Taft, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Sotomayor WILDCATS a 2-0 shutout on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Raiders: when they faced off against the WILDCATS back in January, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

Taft's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14. As for Sotomayor, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Taft and Sotomayor could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Taft (ranked 626th) will meet Harlan (ranked 174th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Sotomayor will square off against Warren at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 439 places (573 vs. 134).
